This Workbook on Community Engagement has been designed as a learning aid for elected members. Its introduction says it makes no judgement about whether someone has been a member for some time or whether elected more recently.
For the former it even bravely states “it may even challenge you to reconsider how you have approached aspects of the role to date”!
It suggests members who are new to local government will recognise that they have much to learn. For these new councillors the workbook aims to get them up to speed on the main areas of the neighbourhood and community engagement role.
If you excuse its classroom style, this Workbook on Community Engagement is a very useful introductory guide for stakeholders on different side of the community engagement fence.
