I love the quote -so true! This report produced by the Institute of Place Management is a must-read for anybody involved in influencing High Street vitality and viability.
This report outlines how town centre managers should focus on the factors identified as ‘micro’ that impact on vitality and viability. These are the factors that could be influenced by the High Street stakeholders. They include factors such as improving the retail offer, place-making and marketing. In contrast, the study concludes that individual High Streets are unlikely to be able to influence ‘macro’ factors. These include factors such as political, economic and social issues or ‘spatial’ factors relating to geographic location.
