Colwyn Bay is one of the communities where People and Places have a hands-on monitoring role as part of the Vibrant and Viable Places Evaluation process.
Evaluation techniques adapted from the People and Places’ Town Centre Benchmarking process, have been selected to help evaluate the impact of Vibrant and Viable Places (VVP), the flagship regeneration programme across Wales. In committing finding to the VVP programme, the Welsh Government is keen to ensure that its investments are realised in strong benefits for the communities and town centres targeted. Effective evaluation is therefore vital to prove the impact of the funding.
The evaluation process developed by People and Places has been chosen for this important task because it offers a tried and tested local evaluation method that will make the evidence gathering as straightforward and consistent as possible.
Commenting on the news, People and Places Director, Chris Wade said, “It’s an honour to be involved in this national programme that aims to turn-around the fortunes of key town and city centres across the country. We look forward to working with each of the communities to ensure an effective, evaluation process.”
